Dallas,
Texas September 19-20, 2006
-- For the eleventh consecutive year,
Jacobs Media will be hosting The Summit
– the annual gathering of the
radio industry dedicated to the exploration
of key issues facing our business. "We
are excited to once again align with
the Radio & Records convention to
put on this year’s showcase event,
Summit 11," Jacobs Media President
Fred Jacobs announced. "This has
been an excellent partnership over the
years, as we’ve been able to combine
forces with R&R to create a significant
industry event. And in 2006, the challenge
to produce the most compelling sessions
is even higher because of the convergence
of Summit 11, the Radio & Records
Convention, and the NAB Convention all
in one building."
Radio &
Records Publisher/CEO Erica Farber comments,
"We are pleased to once again welcome
the Jacobs Media Summit to the R&R
Convention. The Jacobs Summit is a great
addition to our agenda. Fred, Paul and
the entire Jacobs Media staff devote
a lot of time and energy into offering
educational and high quality sessions
specifically designed for the Rock,
Classic Rock, and Alternative formats."
The mission
of the Summit is to bring the radio
community together to discuss the challenges
and opportunities facing the business.
"We believe that broadcasters are
hungry to be exposed to the best thinkers,
inside and outside of radio," remarks
Jacobs. Past Summit presenters have
included Harry Shearer, Howard Dean’s
Internet strategist Zephyr Teachout,
Little Steven Van Zandt, Tom Calderone,
and others. "While our agenda is
still coming together, attendees can
be assured we will once again provide
them with a compelling event where they
can bring actionable ideas back to their
stations," says Jacobs. "If
there’s one convention for everyone
from radio to attend, it’s this
one."
Summit
11 will be held in Dallas on Tuesday,
September 19th and Wednesday, September
20th. Tuesday sessions will
be between 1pm and 5pm and Wednesday
sessions from 10:15am-12:30pm. The Radio
& Records Convention and the NAB
convention run from Wednesday through
Friday, September 20th through 22nd.
