Radio For Good: A Revolution
In this talk, Tim Sanders, the former Chief Solutions Officer of Yahoo! will share research from his new book (Saving The World At Work) that suggests that today's consumer seeks both entertainment as well as meaning. When programming delivers both, consumers are more loyal and tell their friends about it. To illustrate this point, Sanders will share case studies of talk radio programs that have injected what he calls "Bits For Good" into their schedule, and grown more valuable in the process. Moreover, by giving on air personalities, producers and promotional staff a chance to make a difference, motivation is up and burnout is down.

If You Build It...

How do you bring attention to your site without diminishing your on-air product or reducing your commercial inventory? Several Rhythmic programmers have found a way to marry music and media, extend their brands online and successfully establish destination sites that generate revenue. This session will show you how you can do it too.

Evolution Of The Smooth Jazz Species: The Time Is Now
SPONSORED BY CONCORD MUSIC GROUP
There is no consensus on how the smooth jazz format should adapt in order to survive and flourish, only agreement that challenges to the format's future abound, particularly an ageing audience. Crossover pop vocal current hits appear one way to attract younger listeners, but what about vocal gold of the '60s and '70s, that some believe is this format's "bedrock"? What ratio of vocals to instrumentals will permit smooth jazz to retain its unique identity and attract 25-34s? Exploring these and other burning issues, our distinguished programming panelists won't flinch.
