  Etheridge Really Leaving KBIQ

R&R first told you in April that KBIQ/Colorado Springs PD/morning man Steve Etheridge was leaving the station due to the effect the altitude was having on his daughter's asthma. He had started looking for job opportunities closer to sea level when doctors determined that his daughter's breathing condition could be safely treated and monitored in Colorado Springs, so he called off the job search and announced he would be staying at KBIQ. But Etheridge told R&R that one of the opportunities that arose from that search has kept pulling at him, and he has accepted a position with Clear Channel Christian AC KPEZ/Austin as APD/MD/afternoon driver. He says, "It's really bittersweet for me because National PD Chuck Finney and everyone at Salem has treated me so well and have been so great to work with, but this is just something I feel I'm supposed to do." Etheridge starts his new duties in Austin on Aug. 21. That means Finney will resume his search for a new PD in Colorado Springs. Send your digital package to chuck.finney@klty.com.
