Veteran record promotion executive Tawanda Shamley has joined Emtro Records as VP of Radio Promotion. Shamley previously ran her own promoiton company Joyful Noise Promotions, which most recently worked the CeCe Winan's album Throne Room, and Vicki Yohe's Because Of Who You Are. She previously held positions with Capitol Records, GRP Records, Scotti Brothers, and Organized Noize Productions. She started her career in the music industry at WHUR/Washington DC.

Congratulations to the EMI Gospel team and Donald Lawrence on having the longest running single at No. 1 on R&R's Gospel chart. "The Blessing of Abraham" has officially been No. 1 now for 14 consecutive weeks, having first hit the top spot on April 23. Prior to this, Jmoss' "We Must Praise" held the record, having stayed at No. 1 for 13 weeks beginning Oct. 31, 2004.
