R&R Going For Adds - Week Of October 20, 2003

After several years away from the public eye, new mom Sarah McLachlan is back in a big way. On Oct. 21, her long-awaited new Arista single will be Going For Adds. "Fallen" is the debut track from Afterglow, Sarah's first new studio album in six years. The song is already going strong at AC, Hot AC and Triple A, we expect CHR/Pop to show it the same kind of love. Sarah is also scheduled to appear on The Late Show With David Letterman (CBS, 11/3), Live With Regis & Kelly (ABC, 11/5), Weekend Today Show (11/7), The Tonight Show With Jay Leno (NBC, 11/12) and The Ellen DeGeneres Show (11/13). Another important date to keep in mind is Nov. 4 -- the date when Afterglow hits the streets.

'Numb' Feels Like A Hit
Linikin Park is all set to go for adds at Pop radio with "Numb," the third single from their sophomore album, Meteora, which already is becoming a hit at other formats. This week, the song reaches No. 17*, No. 20* and No. 23* on R&R's Alternative, Active Rock and Rock charts, respectively. The video for "Numb" was directed by LP member DJ Joseph Hahn, and early believers in the song include WIOQ/Philadelphia and KBKS/Seattle. The sextet, formed in Los Angeles in 1996, is currently touring Australia and will visit Asia later this month. They have also been nominated in the categories of Artist of the Year/Rock Radio and Song of the Year/Rock Radio at this year's Radio Music Awards, taking place Oct. 27. November is shaping up to be a big month for Linkin Park as well. Their first live CD/DVD compilation will be available in November, and it will feature performances from their Texas Summer Sanitarium shows. LP is also up for Favorite Artist/Alternative at the 2003 American Music Awards, airing Nov. 16 on ABC-TV. As for touring, the boys will play at the Smokeout Festival in San Bernardino, CA on Nov. 15, then it's off to Europe for more shows.
