R&R Going For Adds - Week Of October 20, 2003

E-mail Cyndee MaxwellIt's that spooky time of year. If anything, this holiday is the closest thing to being right in the target of the format. Leave Mother's Day to the AC stations. Rock will take the ghouls. So, what are your plans for Oct. 31? Have any fun events planned? Share them with us so we can give you some public props.

Stone Temple Pilots Return
In 1992, Stone Temple Pilots took the scene by storm with their eight-times platinum debut, Core, which featured the hits "Plush" and "Sex Type Thing." Next week, the Grammy Award-winning band from California return as they present "All in the Suit That You Wear" to Rock and Active Rock outlets. "Suit" is the only brand new song present on STP's upcoming greatest hits CD, Thank You, scheduled for release on Nov. 11. The album will contain 15 tracks -- "Suit," 13 of their previous hits and an acoustic version of "Plush" recorded live on MTV's Headbanger's Ball in 1992. A special CD/DVD package of the album will also be available for purchase. The 3-hour, 32-song DVD will contain "bootleg" video shot by friends and fans of Stone Temple Pilots, as well as music videos and live performances. A version of "Sweet Emotion" with Aerosmith's Steven Tyler and Joe Perry and a version of "Wichita Lineman" with Glen Campbell will also be present on the DVD.
