R&R Going For Adds - Week Of October 20, 2003

Hard to believe that Halloween is just around the corner! Nevertheless, new releases for your consideration are still comin' at you. Check out the new Counting Crows track (from a greatest hits package), the new Cowboy Junkies song (from a tribute to Gordon Lightfoot), as well as new tunes from The Crash Test Dummies, Brenda Weiler and Al Green (!). Plus Guster are back with a followup to their No. 1 Triple A hits, as well as a Delbert McClinton live album and a various artists' remix album of Charlie Parker's material called Bird Up.

No Need To Be Cautious
There's no need to be cautious when it comes to deciding whether or not to add Guster's "Careful" to your playlist next week -- just go ahead and do it. Comprising Ryan Miller, Brian Rosenworcel and Adam Gardner, Guster came together after the three met at freshman orientation at Tufts University in 1991. Guster are contributing a track to the Christmas benefit compilation Maybe This Christmas, Too titled "(Mamacita) Donde Esta Santa Claus?" Other artists on the album include The Dave Matthews Band, Barenaked Ladies, Flaming Lips and many others. Currently, the band is on tour with Kathleen Edwards in primarily Midwestern markets through Oct. 25, then they will hit West Coast markets in early November. On Jan. 3, look for Guster to appear on Austin City Limits.
